- Ben, Felipe, James, Jordane, Tapan
- Platform independence: Java / XML as the base, do not focus on J2EE
- Very few MFIs use Linux (mostly 98, 2000, XP) but MANY are considering Linux
- Bottomline: GnuCash was the preferred accounting package
- GnuCash engine seems the right decision: very modular and powerful
- Short term: use GTK port. Long term: integrate a Java front end
- James explained his diagram: http://www.tech.gfusa.org/MOAPS/moap_gnucash.html
- Fig1: Engine
- Fig2: Mo-Ap: it uses a different data store, to store MFI-specific data
- Tapan noted that we should think of GNUCash as a self-contained accounting system
- Always XML!!!
- How tight should be the integration between accounting (GNUCash) and portfolio management? Most branches might need both on the same location. The protocol / middleware should be defined later.
- Not enough time to discuss it.
- Document is on wiki. (include link here)
- Due to the problems we had today, do not enable voice on the next Yahoo Messenger conferences.
- We agreed to meet every month (time TBD) and deliver weekly status report
- Extend the Use Cases into a Spec for the portfolio system, Tapan, Sep 15th
- Review use cases, Team, ASAP (deadline for Sep 5)
- Data Model (Draft), James, Sep 20
